On every episode of the White Thoughts Podcast, you can impress your friends, impress your colleagues and co workers, and impress your family with your vernacular knowledge or vocabulary knowledge. And this week's wordsmith word is oh computer generated voice nerdle. Say that one more time? Nerdle nerdle spelled n your d l e. It is a noun. It's a very small pellet of plastic which serves as raw material in the manufacture of plastic products. And let's hear it used an a few sentences. Shall we. Just filled the box with nerdles in order to protect the breakables during the shipping process. All right, how about another sentence? The volunteers successfully cleaned several bags of nerdles and other plastic debris off the beach. All right, to one more. We received five colors of nerdle today, all of which will be used in the new product design. All right, and that's this week's wordsmith word of the episode on the podcast Nerdle and you are dl E. It's a noun, a very small pellet of plastic which serves as raw material in the manufacture of plastic products. Now you know. Now you're in the know, and who could ask for anything more? Huh. Well, let's get right into this week's episode of the Weiste's Thoughts podcast. I hope all of you out there are doing well, and thank you so much again for dropping by and spending some of your valuable time with us here on the Waste Thoughts podcast. So welcome, my fellow wanderers. And uh, you know we're going to gather right now. Come, let's gather around the virtual campfire, pull up a log, grab a metaphorical some more, and let's get cozy, shall we. All Right, On this episode of the podcast, we're dumbing into one of those truly classic thought questions that always sparks some fascinating discussions. Today's episode is titled if you could have one wish, what would it be? You know, it's a question that we've all pondered at some point, right, come on, let's be honest with ourselves, maybe as a kid dreaming big or as an adult facing life's complexities. It's a question that on the surface seems really simple, but when you really dig into it, when you really get into the minution, dig in, it reveals so much about our values, our hopes, and even our fears. I've been thinking about this a lot lately, and that's why I wanted to do a podcast episode about it. And it's interesting to know how my answer has evolved over the years. When I was younger, I would have been something grand and perhaps a little self serving, you know, like unlimited ice cream, the ability to fly, or maybe a massive pile of toys, you know, the classic kit stuff. But as we grow, our perspectives shift. We start to see the bigger picture, the interconnectedness of things, and suddenly that one wish feels like it carries a lot more weight. Let's break this down a bit, shall we. When you hear one wish, your mind probably goes to a few common categories, like the selfish wish. A lot of people when faced with this question immediately think of something for the greater good world. Peace, an end to poverty, poverty, you know, a cure for all diseases. These are incredibly noble wishes, and they speak to a deep sense of empathy to make the world a better place. Can you imagine the impact if someone truly wished for I don't know, let's say universal access to clean water. I think the lives that would be saved, the communities that would thrive. It's a pretty powerful thought. The challenge with these kinds of wishes, of course, is they're sure magnitude. How would such a wish manifest? Would it be a sudden magical transformation, or would it simply pave the way for humanity to achieve these things on its own. It's a beautiful idea, isn't it real? Beautiful idea, But it also opens up a lot of philosophical rabbit holes. Then there's the personal growth wish. There's a lot a wish that focuses on personal growth development. Maybe it's a wish for infinite wisdom or unwavering confidence, or the ability to master any skill instantly. Wouldn't that be great? These wishes are all about becoming the best version of ourselves, which in turn can have a positive ripple effect on those around us. I mean, let's face it, if you wished for perfect memory, think of the learning that you could achieve. Can you imagine that the stories you could remember, the connections that you could deepen. This category often reflects our internal struggles and our aspirations. I mean, we all have areas that we want to improve in our lives, and the idea of a magical shortcut to self mastered is incredibly appealing. It it's a wish that empowers the individual to then empower others. Another type of wish is the material or experimental wish, and of course we can't forget about the more tangible types of wishes like this, a dream house, unlimited wealth, the ability to travel anywhere instantly. I mean, there's nothing wrong with these desires. I mean, let's be honest, there's really nothing wrong with these desires. They often represent comfort, security, and the freedom to experience life to its fullest. Wouldn't want to explore every corner of the globe or never worry about bills? Again, So a lot of people's wishes I know that fine included. However, this is where the classic be careful what you wish for trope often comes into play. Think about this for a moment. Does unlimited wealth truly bring happiness? Look how many lives have been destroyed by seemingly unlimited wealth. I mean, does having everything you could ever want diminish the joy of striving and achieving? It's a balance, isn't it, my friends? The pursuit of these things often brings as much satisfaction as their actual attainment. So let's talk about my evolving wish. What's my wish? Now? If I had that one single wish, what would it would be? Well, it's no longer about personal gain. And while I deeply desire world peace and the end of suffering, I've come to realize that some of those grand, selfless wishes might actually strip humanity of its own agency, its own lessons that need to be learned, and its own journey towards progress. Today would be for universal, unwavering compassion and understanding. Let me say that again. My wish, if I had it could be granted right now while you're listening to this podcast, would be for universal, unwavering compassion and understanding. I mean, think about it. If every single person on this planet truly understood and felt compassion for one another, so many of our biggest problems would simply dissolve. Wars would cease, poverty would be addressed with genuine care, Environmental issues would be tackled, and with collective responsibility, and prejudices would melt away. It's not just about empathy. It's about active understanding, walking a mile in someone else's shoes, truly grasping their perspective and their pain, then acting from a place of love and shared humanity. This wish, to me doesn't take away our challenges, but it fundamentally changes how we approach them. It empowers us to solve our own problems, but with a foundation of kindness and shared purpose. I truly feel it allows for growth, for learning, and for the beautiful, messy process of being human, but always with a safety net of mutual support. It's a wish that I believe would organically lead to many of those other noble outcomes we've talked about, without overriding free will or the natural order of things. It's about shifting the internal landscape of humanity, which wouldin inevitably transform the external world. But those are my thoughts. What do you think? Give me some feedback, Hit me up on x at Terry Weiss. You can leave comments on your favorite podcast provider and at our website at Purplepitstudios dot com.
