So you can check that out and it's all over at White Thoughts on YouTube. So all right, enough self shameless self promotion, as they say, Let's get into the meat and the potatoes of the program today, the power of your mind. I've been thinking about this because quite frankly, there is a battle going on for the hearts and minds, and mainly the minds of Americans, and I would have to say maybe many of you listening around the world too as well. There's there's so much misinformation out there. There's so much disinformation. There's so much there's outright lies being perpetuated by big corporations and conglomerates and mainly in the media. It's mainly the media. And I know a lot of you are going to say, hey, Terry, this has been going on for quite some time. This isn't nothing new. But here's the thing, my friends. Now we're more aware of it. Now we have more avenues, as it were, that we can have access to that allow us to investigate all this disinformation that is being perpetrated on us, especially especially in the United States of America. And again I'm going because it bears repeating. It does bear repeating a lot of it, not all of it, not all of it, mind you, but a good portion of the wise and propaganda are being perpetuated by the radical left in this country. Now, depending on what part of the world you may be listening in, because I know in Australia the left side of politics and I get this on good source from an actual Australian citizen, the left side of politics in Australia is actually what's comparable to conservatism or the right here in the United States. So take that all in context. What I mean by the left here in the United States of America, I'm talking about these lunatics that don't know what a woman is, these radical lunatics that are pushing this LBGTQ, ABC one two three transgender transphobe propaganda, you know, And well, now what I mean by that is the following. There's a radical element in the gay and lesbian community, especially the trans community, that have this fantasy in their mind that they're being persecuted. Ladies and gentlemen that could be farthest from the truth. I and I have a pretty wide circle, and the people in my circle have a wide circle, and then people that they're people have a wide circle. So it's like a butterfly effect here. Do not have not ever heard, participated in or encountered rumors of people openly wanting to harm anyone in those communities ever? Okay? And the fantasy, the outright delusion that is being pushed by this community and the lamestream media, the corporate bought and paid communist Nazi party media, that's what I call them in the United States, because they're just dirt. They're the stuff you get on the bottom of the shoe after you go through a dog park. Okay, those little piles of hot steaming and their ship. How's that, you know, No, no hope, no holds barred. I'm not censored. The lie that is being perpetrated by these organizations saying they're they're they're being persecuted in harm is going to come bullshit. It's all bull shit. Most of us here in civilized society in the United States have a live and let live policy. However, however, increasingly in the past especially decade, the liberal communist nazi party on the left have been really putting that to the test. They just keep poking at you. It's like somebody's standing face to face with you and they're poking you in the chest, and you're like, just let me, just let me alone, you know, and they just keep you know, they're just they just keep poking you in the chest. It's like, you know, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, You're gonna do what I want to do, what I want to do, what I want to do it. And those of us here that really don't have any opinion per se on the matter or certain matters of things, that just want to be left alone, live our lives, peacefully, raise our families, live as Americans, and figure, this is our right to pursue our happiness. Have these liberal communist nazi leftists in this country that they are pushing an agenda They've infiltrated now the media big time. I mean, over the past decade, they've now infiltrated politics at every level, every level, and they have now infiltrated the school systems. They've always been in the entertainment industry in one form or another, but now they're coming for the children with this transgender bullshit. And I'll let me go on record in state, if you don't know, you wake up in the morning and don't know what pronoun you are, If you wake up in the morning and don't know if you're a male or a female, you have to flip a coin to decide you are mentally ill. There's something wrong with you. You need medical help and medical mental intervention to get your head straight and get you know, figure out what it is you want. Because when you keep changing your mind, just like the wind or the you know, the direction of the wind, something is not right with you. And I pity you, I really do, and I feel somewhat sorry for you, and it's sad that you have that mental illness. And I find it very very disheartening, disturbing, and mortifying that we in this modern day and age, especially in the United States of America, have to have discussions on what a woman is. It's utterly asinine, utterly ridiculous. And it's the battle for your mind and how powerful your mind can be. And some people's minds are warped, some people have mental illness in their minds. Folks, your mind has great power. It can be used for good, it can be used for evil. It can be used for the betterment of not only yourself, but the betterment of society as a whole. It's how you choose to put your mind to work. Okay, It's important for you to realize that your mind is more powerful than even you can imagine. I know, even more than I can imagine. In the Bible, it says as a man thinketh, so is he or again I'm paraphrasing, where the mind goes, the body follows, etc. There's so many sayings. And we have an epidemic of mental health issues in this country right now. I'm sure there are around the world, but we have an epidemic and people need help. Your mind is the key to overall happiness. Your mind is the key to health. We are the only, as far as I know right now, sentient beings in the universe that have the ability to make decisions, to know fundamentally from right and wrong. The lower species animals Okay, wild animals, they just they act mainly mainly out of instinct, whereas Homo sapiens human beings can know what's right and what's wrong. And with that, unfortunately, we are also, as human beings, the only species that kill and hurt and maime and go to war over ideas, over perceived slight, over emotion instead of necessity. So the mind is a very powerful, powerful place, not only individually but society. As far as society goes as well. Now let's backtrack a little bit and let's just talk about the individual in the mind. Individually, you have thoughts throughout the day. Everyone has literally tens of thousands of thoughts throughout the day. You have a subconscious okay, and you have a conscious mind. Now, the subconscious mind mind you is all those things that kind of you don't realize you're doing. You know, like how many times and again, how many times if let's say you've done something and it doesn't come out right, and you go, oh, what a jerk I am? You don't think it's just instinct and subconsciously you're beating yourself up in your mind. Things like that affect you. Things like that affect your health. Your mental health. There's things that our mind does that we don't even know. That's why hypnotism is such a powerful tool. Some people are very easily hypnotized and some aren't. But hypnotism can you can regress someone back to a childhood and they might have had a trauma or a triumph that they've completely forgotten about, but it's locked away in the file cabinet of their mind. But by getting someone into a subconscious awareness state, that can unlock many many secrets and help solve traumas and past issues and overall provide a better quality of life for the individual going forward. You know, scientists don't They're just beginning to unravel the mysteries of the mind. And it's amazing how we have developed over you know, the hundreds and hundreds of years and thousands of years as human beings, how our minds are developed and knowledge is passed on from one generation to another. And well, you wouldn't know it in this generation because some of these koops running around out here. My humble opinion, but I mean, look at all the things we've accomplished, even in the past hundred years, flight, air travel, space travel, computers, supercomputers, communications, medical advances, all brought to you by the mind of human beings. Someone had to think it, someone had to dream it, someone had to believe it, someone had to investigate it, and then someone had to pursue the path. Many in society, not only in the United States but around the world, fall victim to a bad what's called a bad mindset. In other words, they overeat, the indulge in drugs or dangerous activities such as gambling, or they even become criminals. They are born without a sense of empathy or compassion, or just downright evil. What I can tell you is that your mind and how you think can dictate the course of your life. I am living proof of it. I have had highs, I've had lows. I have had positive outcomes, I've had negative outcomes. I have had victories and defeats, and I still struggle with how I think about things, getting a hold of your mind and getting I don't think we one really ever has control of their mind. Maybe Buddhists, you know, maybe certain spiritual leaders or martial arts people. But there's certain I mean, certain classes of people have gained a better understanding of their own mind through whether it's meditation, fasting, spirituality, religion, what have you. But I don't think any human being has totally captured and gained one hundred percent control of their mind. And I just feel it's at this point in our revolution, probably impossible to do. However, there are things that you and I can do daily to enhance our mind and to better understand who we are and how we think and why we think, and how we can change mindsets and ways of thinking to not only give us a better quality quality of life right now, but also in the future. And I'm not talking about taking supplements or things like meditation, proper, sleep, proper, what's called self talk, how you talk to yourself both. I mean everyone has a little a little person that I call them the you know, the writer, you know, the passenger that's inside our brain and talks to us. It's that all that voice we hear in our head. I mean we've heard it in songs, referenced in songs and literature and movies and such. That it's that little you know, it's that that inner voice. I call it the passenger, the inner voice, your conscious, your God voice whatever. It's been called many things. And if we can tap into the inner voice inside of our mind, inside of our consciousness, and make peace with them and learn from them and kind of steer them in the direction that we would like to go consciously and would go a long way to improve your quality of life. And people that have done it have improved their quality of life immensely, immensely, And it's something I still am exploring. You know, people say, how can people join cults? How can people? You know, like right now we have the woke leftist cult in America, their cult. It's a cult mindset. How can people join cults like religious cults and secular cults, etc. It's because these individuals or organizations know how to get into your mind and what buttons to push, as it were, to control you, control your thoughts, control your behavior, and what have you. They know how to do these things, and thus they program you subconsciously without you really maybe even realizing it, and then you go oh boy, and sometimes before you know it, when you realize what's happened, it may be too late. There are things you can do, though, to enhance your mind, enhance your quality of life, and make yourself just more aware of how you being programmed. I personally feel that big media, movies, Hollywood, etc. Do some form of programming. I mean advertisers do it. When they want to sell you something, they gotta get inside your head, make you have some type of reaction, some type of emotional reaction to respond to either entice you to buy their product or their service. Social media it's been proven. There's a great special that was on Netflix about social media and how they use algorithms and showing you things on social media, whether it be Twitter or Facebook, what have you, whatever social media platform you're on, even the TikTok as well and Instagram. They show you things that lean towards your pleasurable towards a pleasurable experience. And that's how they keep you on. They're scrolling and scrolling and scrolling and spending hours and fighting with people on social media. Again, it's getting inside your mind. Some of your relatives know how to control your mind, to manipulate you. Have you ever found yourself. Let's say maybe you have a very demanding parent and they know what guilt buttons to push or what have you, or as things to push to make you bend to their will. Because your mind reacts to how you've been conditioned. When you were being brought up. Now there are ways to break the chain, break the cycle, break free. It's not easy, whether it's a you know, overbearing parent or relative, or child or spouse, what have you. Friend, there are ways for you to assert yourself and you know, do what's best for your mental health. But those are difficult challenges. It's it's as hard as like quitting smoking or quitting a drug addiction what have you many times too, you know, like in things like drug addiction and alcoholism. Once you go through a program, and so I've heard and read and you know, have spoken to people about that, have gone through things of this nature. The physical desire for that experience that the drugs or alcohol gave you, or whatever addiction it may be sexual addiction or what have you, affirmations from other people that's an addiction, people pleasing, etc. But once the physical with the like the drugs and alcohol, getting back to that, once your body's physical demands and desire for that has been eradicated, the rest remains in the mind. It's a mind. Then it's a battle with your mind. And there have been many books over many many decades written about your mind by both psychologists psychiatrists, health professionals, religious and spiritual leaders, self help people. But your mind is a very powerful thing and if I can impress upon any of you. And again I'm saying this for my own self, advice you too. I'm preaching to myself or telling myself, I should say, you have to be careful what you allow to take up space in your mind. It is easy to become disgruntled, discouraged, disenfranchised. I you know, let's all thrill any words out, unhappy, miserable, you know, angry, what have you. It's it's easy for setting someone to take up space in your mind and kind of steer you around, you know, like getting in a car and driving in a car around, get in your mind and driving you around emotionally and mentally. So you have to be mindful of what you allow to take up residence in your mind. It's very important. We're gonna take a quick break and after this we're gonna talk some more. I'm going to talk some more on the other side of the break about things you can do starting today for your mind. We'll be right back right after this. Hey, thanks for tuning in to the show. If you want to contact me, you can tweet at me on Twitter at Terry Weiss. You can also follow me on Facebook. It's facebook dot com, backslash wife Thoughts and if you want to check out my YouTube channel, just search for wife Thoughts on YouTube. Now let's get back to the show. Hey, everybody, welcome back, Welcome to White Slots. I'm Terry Weiss, and on this episode we're talking about the mind and how powerful the mind is and how it can be controlled and manipulated and all that kind of fun stuff. And earlier we were talking about ways that people, organizations, advertisers and such can control your mind or want to try and get control of your mind to make you act, think and behave in a certain way. And what I want to get to right now as I want to talk about things that you can start doing, things that I'm doing and still still continue to do to improve your mind, as it were, improve the quality of your mind, your quality of quality of life and what have you. And one of those things that you can do is start gaining knowledge. Now you say, Terry, what do you mean by that? What do you mean start gaining What does that mean? Start gaining knowledge? What I mean to say is get yourself educated. Now, I'm not talking about you know, going to college, going to school, what have you. That has nothing to do with it. I'm talking about you doing your own research. Like, don't take everything the news tells you at face value. No matter you can say, well, I've watched this and it's the most trusted name in news, or this says it brings me the most accurate and up to date information. It's those are taglines, those are advertising bloys, those are marketing things. Okay, there's a whole world of information literally at our fingertips my friends nowadays, and all it takes is a little bit of a little bit of type in and a little bit of clicking on the Internet, and you can find various sources, whether it's from media, non conventional sources of media, articles, etc. Do your own research on things topics. Don't just take what you're being fed by, even your friends, family, you know, just don't take a thirty second blur but oh yeah, okay, that's that's the way it is, no matter what, whether you agree with it or not, always do a little bit more, dig a little deeper, I implore you. And that's something that I have had to really trained myself and it takes training. Don't get me wrong, it's so easy because fundamentally, I think we're all lazy. I know I am. When it comes to I, Yeah, just give me the path the least resistance. I'll do that. I'll take that. At our core, we just want Yeah, give it to me, Give it to me fast, Give it to me quick. You know, again, being conditioned our minds, give it to me fast, Give it to me quick, the least painful way possible, so I can move on to something else. But especially in today's times where information and we're being bombarded daily all over the place from conversations with friends, family, co workers, organizations, and the media organizations in print and what have you. Community politicians, you've got to take a step back. You gotta take a step back and say, okay, what, let's look at the bigger picture. Let's look how this affects me, how does it affect others around me? What have you? So I would say, just the first thing you can do to help your mind, to better your mind, to even bring more peace to your mind, is do a little bit of independent thought. When it comes to things you're being told, things you're being asked to do, not asked to do things. You're you're supposed to believe, not believe, what have you. The other thing you can do, and this is a big one, is and I know it's a dirty word in some circles, meditate. Now, I hear a bunch of you out there gonna, Jesus, what do you mean meditate? I'm what I'm gonna put on a towel. Mom, No, you don't have I mean, if you want to, man, if that's your thing, by all means, go for it. But no, what I'm talking about is doing the introspective thought. It doesn't mean you have to sit in a room with a candle and you know, and you know bell's going off in the background, and no, but just take start with like five minutes and believe me, Meditating is it extremely can be. Some people take to it easily, you know, just like you know, riding a bike. It's like, oh, it's easy. And some people have to work at it because our minds are mostly you know, you know, once we're up in conscience and moving around, they start going. But off they go, man, and they're going. I mean, some of you that suffer from insomnia know what I mean. You know, you're you're tired, you're exhausted as hell, and you're betting. And all you're doing is you're sitting there. Your body is exhausted, but your mind's going. You know, it's my best think of a car shift about anyway. Your mind's going one hundred miles an hour, and you can't get to sleep. So what do you do? You toss your turn? You toss your turn. Here, look at the clock. And if I go to sleep now, I'll get six hours to sleep. I go sleep now, I'll get five and a half hours. Blah blah blah. You know. But finding quiet time or better known as meditation or quieting your mind, if you will it so much wonders for your mind. I mean, and you can start real easy. I mean, there's there's apps that if you have, like an Apple Watch or an Android watch, just get. There's a thing called a breathing app or a five minute There's all kinds of relax meditations they call them in everything where you just close your eyes and just and start slowing your breathing down and just and just concentrate on a word or you know, if you have a loved one or a pet, or a time in your life. Start visualizing that with your eyes closed in your mind, try and get into a comfortable state of mind. Just starting with five minutes and do it five minutes a day for two weeks and then maybe if you have time, you know, if you can increase it to seven or ten minutes and get up to fifteen minute. And you know, sometimes you might even fall asleep during it. I have a couple of times. But this goes a long way, however, in really not only helping your mental health, helping you focus more clearly, reduces stress, makes you less reactive and more proactive in your thinking. It helps every facet of your health. In your body, reducing blood pressure. I've heard, and again I'm no medical doctor, so don't take, you know, anything as I say is medical gospel. Okay, but I've heard and read in some circles that it helps lower like cholesterol and risks for other you know, debilitating disease, is heart disease. I've read things like that. Well, I know it definitely can help lower your heart rate, lower your blood pressure over time as well. If you do it, you know, daily, at least five to ten minutes a day. You know, do it? You know once in the morning, maybe before you get out of bed. You know, most of most of you out there, you know that alarm goes off, the first thing you do is you grab your phone or whatever, check your email, or you jump out of bed and down to the you know, the all kitchen coffee out the door. We got to slow down, man, And part of slowing down is slowing down your mind. That is a big thing, to slow down your mind because again, where the mind goes, the body is going to follow. In ninety nine percent of the cases, it's proven where the mind goes, the body's gonna follow. Many of us out here with you know, anxiety disorders or what have you. Um, you know you have a panic attack or an anxiety attack is because you feel something weird in your body and you start thinking, oh my god, what's this? Oh my god, what's that? Oh my god? Oh my god? If I gonna die, if I gotta drop that, am I gonna stop breathing? As my heart going to stop? Is my head gonna explode? And again I'm not making light of any of those those feelings or those fears, because they feel real to you and me. I get it. But it's again your mind. Your mind can play tricks on you, so you know, again getting knowledge, gaining a meditating or quiet time for your mind. And the other thing is too is take care of your body as best you can try and at least at least gets six hours of proper rest. I'm talking restricted, undistracted six hours worth asleep. You know, it's it's proven in medical journals, and that a lot of us don't don't even get six hours asleep, you know, I mean the human body. Depending on who you are, some may need more, some may need less, but an average, I would think is at least six hours asleep and more if you're not feeling well or you know you missed a few nights of you know, when you've had not very blissful or RESTful sleep. Another thing that can help your mind a lot. You know, off social media for a while. Don't be on Facebook and Twitter from morning, noon and night, every waking second of your day. Every time you got to break in your day, whether it's your work at home, don't be jumping on Facebook and Twitter to fight with assholes and look up stuff and see stuff that social media. While it can be a great thing for bringing people together in organizations and learning, making new friends. It can also be the devil's playground. I'm telling you right now, I speak raising my hand here in the studio. From personal experience, I've had to cut myself back on social media. I mean, I still post for wife's thoughts, you know. On Facebook. I'm still here and there. I'm a little more active on Twitter than I was before since Elon Musk took over. And you can actually, you know, have an opinion on social media. So, but don't live don't live your life on social media. Live your life in reality. Okay. Social media is not a reflection of reality. Social media is an abstract in all its forms, all of them. And I and don't don't get me wrong. I enjoy Facebook here and there, and Twitter and that, and YouTube and even places like rumble and what have you, you know, Instagram and all that. But I don't live there. There's no reason to, you know, live your life in reality. Man, Reality is so much bigger and better. I'm looking out the window of the studio right now. It's a beautiful sunny day. I'm looking at some trees gently swinging in the breeze. That world out there will never compare to the world inside social media. Never so live your life in reality and kind of pull back a little bit. But sometimes maybe even take a vacation here and there from social media. You know, maybe take a week off. See if two days three days off. If you want to listen to some past episodes of Wife's Thoughts, there's some there called taking a break from social media where, you know, a couple of years back, even during the pandemic, when things were going crazy and we were all kind of stuck at home for the most part because of big government, bureaucracy and things like that, I took a during the summer months. I took a week off from from all social media. And I'll tell you what. I was jones in for the first couple of days. I admit it. The first forty eight hours or so forty eight to seventy two hours, I was jones in a little bit. And then I started feeling really good. Man. I started getting into reading, playing my instruments more, engaging more with those over the phone and video calls and my wife, you know, person, my personal relationships actually improved. There's something to be said for taking a break from social media. Okay, that'll definitely help your mind. Definitely help your mind. Another thing you can do to help your mind is try and give yourself as best you can. And I believe me, I am not one to stand on the soapbox and tell you I'm better than all of you out there. But try and give yourself some decent nutrition. Stay off of drugs and things of that nature. You know, give your body at least the basic nutrients it needs to survive. Try and eat, Try and eat a well balanced diet as best you can. Don't be feeding yourself McDonald's twenty four seven. And expect to be healthy and your mind to be good and functioning. Because again you can search the internet. There are many, many different studies across the globe about how fast foods and processed foods and drugs and other chemicals can cloud our minds and you know, harm them. So try and you try and be a good caretaker of the passenger your mind. Okay, try and do that, I mean. And the other thing too is try and engage in more social interactions. And I'm not talking virtually like we were just talking about. I'm talking about go to barbecues, go to car shows, go to flea markets, get out in the public, get that fresh air, meet people, spend some time, interact with relatives and friends, talk, you know, read books. Reading is one of the greatest things if you love reading, and I love reading myself. When I read a book, it's like a movie starts playing in my mind. Now, some people, this doesn't happen for And I know there's some people that just like I hate to read. And I get that. Okay, there's some people that reading, when you're reading a novel or something like that, it doesn't translate into a mental picture in your mind. And that's unfortunate for those people. But I certainly understand that proclivity to not liking reading, and some people have an actual disability, like dyslexia and things like that. But if you can and if you even find the least bit of pleasure from reading read novels, biographies, things like that, it'll definitely help your mind. It helps your vocabulary, It takes you away to a different place. You know, reading can be I say, reading is adventurous. It can take you to far off lands, far away to times, travel you through space and time, travel you through history. You know, bring you pleasure, It can scare you, it can motivate you. It can make you laugh, read it'll definitely it stimulates your mind and the passenger, you know, the passenger, the internal passenger in your mind. It's all good things. Those are just some of the things that you can do to take back and take control of your mind. Because, my friends, our minds have so much influence and there's so much we're not even aware of.
