Would you give us a positive rating and review on your favorite podcast provider and share us with your friends? Thank you so much. Today we're talking about one of the most underutilized superpowers you possess. We're talking about the micro pause. Think about the last time someone cut you off in traffic, sent a sharp email at work, or made a critical comment. What was your reaction? If you're like most people, you reacted instantly. Your heart rate spiked, your defense mechanism fired up, and you responded from a place of stress or anger Well, Viktor Frankl famously wrote, between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom. That space is what we call the micropause. It's not a 10-minute meditation or a weekend retreat. It's a five-second deliberate halt. When something triggers you today, instead of jumping straight into action, pause. Take one deep breath in through your nose, hold it for two seconds, and release it. In those few seconds, Your brain switches from the reactive amygdala to the rational prefrontal cortex. You move from, how do I defend myself? To, how do I want to handle this? And that, my friends, is where the power, your superpower, lies. It's something we can all do. It's something that takes practice. The more you practice the micropause, the more it will become instinct instead of being reactionary from emotion. Try the micropause. Again, breathe in through your nose for about two to three seconds and just let it out. So your takeaway for today is this. Identify one moment today that where you feel the urge to react immediately. And when you do, stop. Count to five. Breathe. Choose your response instead of letting the moment choose it for you. Thank you so much for tuning in to Think On This. Take a breath. Empower your choices. And we'll talk next time. Until then, be well.
