Well, hello there. Welcome to another episode of Think On This. We're so glad you decided to join us today. and spend some of your valuable time with us. And if you get something out of this podcast, would you do us a small favor? Would you give us a positive rating and review? And also share us with your friends? Thank you so much. On today's episode of Think On This, we're going to talk about the asymmetry of effort versus strategy. Imagine trying to open a heavy steel door. By pushing on. The side right next to the hinges. Think about that. You could exert 100% of your energy, sweat through your shirt, and the door might barely budge. Now imagine moving your hand to the far edge. And using the door handle, it opens with a single finger. Did the door get lighter? No. Did you get stronger? No. You just changed your leverage. In work and life, we. Are taught to glorify effort. When we get stuck, our default reaction is almost always, I just need to work harder. But effort is a linear input, while strategy is an exponential one. Pushing a bad door hinge harder doesn't make you productive. It just makes you tired. Economist Petredo Peretto gave us the famous 80-20 rule. 80% of your outcomes flow from 20% of your inputs. But in modern knowledge work, it's most often like 99 to 1. Choosing what to work on, who to work with, and how to execute matters infinitely more than how many hours you sit in your chair. Before you start, remember the world doesn't reward raw exertion, it rewards leverage. So ask yourself two questions. Is this a hinge problem or a strength problem? Second, if you could only work on this for one hour today, what single action would would move the needle the furthest. Stop trying to muscle through bad leverage. Find the handle. Apply simple force and let physics do the heavy lifting. Remember, working hard on the wrong thing is still losing. Find your high leverage handles today and watch the heavy. Doors swing open. Think on this today and we'll see you on the next episode But until then, be well.
