Just look for the channel Weiss's thoughts on YouTube. Okay, sounds good. Well let's get into the meat and potatoes of the program. But first before we do that, I would be remiss if I do not do this. Everyone's gonna yell at me. Everyone's going to send well not yell at me, but send me emails and say, hey, I you have not done the wordsmith word of the episode. So we have to do the wordsmith word of the episode so you can expand upon your vocabulary and show all your friends what a big brain you have. It's that time again. It's time for the wordsmith word of the episode. That's right. It's that time to increase your vocabulary knowledge and impress your friends and oh Ai generated voice. What is this episode's wordsmith? Word? Ah gon, you say that one more time for us, please joi de vive It's a noun. It's the exuberant enjoyment of life. And let's let's hear it in the sentence, shall we. Her ninety year old grandmother's huad divivra was evident in the way she still danced at every family gathering. How about another the rescue dog. Brought a new sense of juis divivra to their household. All right, one more. My neighbor could have told you stories of difficult times in her life, but she always displayed a characteristic jua divivra. So there you go, the exuberant enjoyment of life and the word smith word of the episode. One more time before we close this out. Is jua divivre jois di. Vivra spelled j oi e spaced space v i v r the exuberant enjoyment of life. Great? All right, So now you can you know boast to your friends. Hey, look at my big brain. I know a lot of stuff to you. So anyway, welcome back to the program, Welcome to White's Thoughts, and again appreciate each and every one of you, our valuable, valuable and valued listeners. Lots going on. You know, I was taken a little bit out of commission by having the COVID virus right at the beginning of the new year. But we're back on track. I'm just gonna take a sip here, a little liquid refreshment. But we are back on track now and chug a lugging right along, and let's get into this week's episode of Wife's Thoughts, shall we. You know, we're going to explore the power of determination that's right, and how it shapes our lives, from overcoming obstacles to achieving our long term goals, et cetera. Folks, I can't tell you and I cannot stress enough. Determination is what a lot of us in our life lack. A lot of us do We just lack determination. And I'm not, again, like I tell you on every episode when I talk to you about these things and we have a conversation here on the program, I am not preaching to you saying, hey, I've got all the answers, I've figured it all out. I am on this good old traveling highway with you together. And a lot of times this mostly, I would say, most of the time, this is for me as well. But having determination is the key to driving our success. You know, we gotta stay focused, we got to push through challenges and cultivate our resilience. I mean determination, just I guess it's the single most important factor, because you can have great intentions, and you can have the best of intentions. I'm going to you know, lose twenty pounds, or I'm going to get in peak physical condition for my age, or I am going to start bettering my relationships, or i am going to advance my career, or I'm going to start on a new career. I'm going to open a business, or I am going to you know, whatever, whatever it may be. You've got to have determination. And if you don't have that, that this one key piece determination, It is the foundation that everything else is predicated and built upon. My friends, you've got to have it. You've got to. There's just no evans or butts about it. And believe me, I have struggled with this for many, many years of my life and still do to this day. At times. Is just having the determination. You know, it doesn't matter whether it's personal growth, professional success. Determination is the foundation. I cannot stress that enough is the foundation that everything everything else is going to spring forward from. Because you can have the best plan, you could have the best coach, you could have the best mentor you can have the best friend confidant, you can have the best way laid plans of mice and men, as they say, But if we don't have any of us have determination, the plans for shit, it doesn't matter. It does not matter anymore if you don't have determination, because nothing will derail and throw asunder our goals are dreams than not having determination. You've got to move forward with purpose and passion and be determined. And there's gonna be many times that you're just not gonna want to do it. You're gonna say, you know what, I don't feel like getting up an extra thirty minutes early to work out for fifteen to twenty minutes in the morning before I go to work or start my day. I don't feel like saying no to that extra helping of dinner or that extra you know, piece of pie at dessert. I don't feel like taking night classes or signing up for online classes to broaden my skills to advance my career. I don't feel like getting the training I need so I can start my own personal business. I don't feel like practicing my instrument. I don't feel like working on myself personally. You know, I am How many times have you heard people say this? I just am the way I am. Oh, well, I've always been this way. This is how I'm gonna be. I'm just grumpy in the morning. I'm just grumpy in the afternoon. I gotta have my coffee before I can be civil to people. Those are excuses, my friends, and as my grandfather God rest his soul, when he was alive, used to say so bluntly, excuses are like assholes. Everyone has one and they all stink. I'm just I know it's harsh language, but I'm just being blunt with you, and it's true. And you've probably you've probably heard that saying before. I mean, it's not nothing new, And you know, part of me wonders and really thinks that maybe our parents and grandparents before a couple of generations act, you know, they were a lot tougher than the generations nowadays. No, No, granted, there's there are some exceptions to this rule out there. There's some individuals making great strides and you know, in their personal life, professional life, and even socially and globally. True, I know there are some exceptions that being said, though, however, maybe if you maybe it's just the way that things are pushed forward and our information driven society in the past decade or so, is that we maybe, I guess, see a lot of the worst of the worst. You know, I always said that there there should be a lot more good news channels, don't you think a lot more good news channels saying the good that's happening in the world, the things that people are doing in the world that are that are great, and the strides they're making to better mankind and better humanity and better themselves. But I don't know, I'm drifting off the point because we're talking about for us, you and me out here, the common lay folk, our determination and things we need to do and to stay focused and keep pushing through challenges. Now, one of the things that we can do to increase our determination or cultivate our determination, because let me ask you this, how many times have you had an idea, an epiphany or you've come to that fork in the road in your life, and you, ah, that's it. I'm just not going to live this way anymore. I'm changing, that's it, starting tomorrow, starting to rate this minute what I'm done. I'm done with argument with people. I'm done with losing my shit and losing my temper and getting angry over stupid stuff. I'm done with. You're going to have because our inner being or some some folks might even call it the inner child. I call it our our your mini me, whatever you want to call it. Our inner being, that inner self, that base inner self always wants to protect us, okay, and loves we as human beings, love the path of least resistance. And I know because I experience this, I have to battle myself and check myself every single day. You know. Oh, let's go into the studio and practice our instrument. Eh. It's easier to sit on the couch with a cup of tea and binge, watch Netflix or bin watch Binge, watch Hulu or Doom, scroll through Facebook or look up stuff on YouTube, or just goof around on the internet. Believe me, this is one of the biggest challenges I've had in the past two years, and I still find it a challenge. That inner being, that inner person inside of us, the mini me, the inner child, just wants the safe and easy way forward, what makes us comfortable. That's why you have a multi billion dollar industry in the diet and exercise. Okay, that's why you have a multi billion a multi billion dollar industry with self help gurus and coaching and life coaches and professional coaches and everything. Because, believe me, if it was easy, if it was easy to change ourselves to better ourselves. And granted, some people can do it on their own with just little nudges here and there, but if it was so, if it was so damn easy, we wouldn't need those industries, would we. Right? Let me let me explain it like this. If nobody ever got sick, who held need a doctor? Right? I guess that's the easiest way to put it. If no one ever got sick, who the hell would need a doctor? Nobody? If nobody ever did not ever need help keeping themselves motive and determined and looking for life hacks and you know, inspiration, if we were all our best cheerleader, we wouldn't need these outside sources. And I'm not knocking them. I am not knocking outside sources for help at all, whether it's psychology, psychiatry, motivational coaches, life coaches, what have you. We all need it. I use I use them. We all need it from time to time, some of us more than others. But the key thing to changing anything in our lives is determination. You've got to be determined. And there's so many things that you can do to push yourself to remain determined. Because we're all great out of the gate. You know, it's like go into the horse races and boy that that gate opens and boom you fly out. You're ready. Man. Maybe the first few days, maybe the first day, maybe the first week, maybe even the first month, you're like, yeah, I'm ready. I'm doing this. I'm changing my life for the better. I'm doing things for the better. I'm eating out there, I'm getting the proper amount of rest. I'm following through I'm gaining I'm searching out knowledge to help myself determine what my path is, what I want my path to be, and how to get there. And you know, I'm trying to follow in the steps of others that were successful, but yet taking that information and you know, internalizing it and modifying that to my particular situation. But what tends to happen to a lot of us, A lot of us, yours truly, my friends included, yours truly. Here this the big guy, Big Tea included is we start off going good, and we will we lose determination and motivation, but mainly we do we lose the determination to keep going. Because why why do we lose determination? Well, it could be that there's not immediate gratification. We're throwing a lot of big words out here, and what I mean by that is we're not getting that instant reward, or that reward isn't coming quickly enough and not in maybe the size that we wanted to come. We're getting maybe little chunks of it, and that's not enough to keep us determined. What are other ways we might lose determination? Well, maybe they're a big challenge is thrown in ahead of us. We get an illness, a family member gets an illness, we receive some bad economic news, what have you? We just you know, things like that are obstacles. Obstacles, I guess would be the easiest way to say it. Obstacles are thrown into our path and we're like, oh my god, why bother. Maybe we're not seeing the results we want fast enough. Who knows. Or maybe we're just falling into past bad habits that we haven't yet broken in our sub conscious mind to jettison us and pull vault us over the hurdle, to keep us determined. But we have to remember, we have to remember, my friends, determination is what is going to shape our lives to overcoming those obstacles and achieving achieving our long term goals. It's a key driver, the key driver. There's many key drivers to success in life and happiness and contentment, but I would have to say determination is the main one. Look at any great individual throughout history, from your historical figures, whether they be scientists, military leaders, world leaders, actors, actresses, songwriters, authors, poets, what have you, religious leaders, they all had If you think about this, think about this, honestly, they all had one major thing in common. They were determined. They got sand kicked in their face and they got knocked on their ass. What did they do? They got right back up and kept going. They got knocked down on their ass again. They got right back up and kept moving forward. They got knocked on their ass. One hundred times. They got up every single time and kept moving forward. Like a boxer in the ring. You get knocked down, you get up, you keep coming forward. You get knocked down, boom, get up again, Get up again. Don't give up. They had determination, and many of us, many of us, a lot of us, give up too. Damn easy. Oh this is hard, no shit, Sherlock. Life was never a guarantee to be easy. Just be thankful you're drawing air into your lungs every day. Be thankful you're healthy. Be thankful that you have a chance every day to start over and be better and get one more step down the road to achieving your goals and your dreams. Be happy, Be thankful for that. Be determined you can change no matter what it is. Well, jeez, Terry, everybody in my family's always been poor, and I only work at this job and making everybody. It's just the way it is. No, it's not. Be determined to be better, gee, Terry, everybody, you know my family's always you know, we're just crouchy, and you know we're not healthy people. And I don't be better. Be determined to be better. You can do it, We all can do it. But you have to have determination because without it, you're gonna get what you've been getting and we'll continue to get if you don't have determination. Hey, thanks for listening to the program today. I truly appreciate each and every one of you out there, and remember to see a change in the world, you have to be the change in the world you want to see.
